Approached by a long drive of over 100 lime trees, Touvent is situated on a hill overlooking the River Dronne, with panoramic views for some 25kms. Formerly the childhood home of François Mitterrand, this lovely old "maison de maître" now offers today's "vacanciers" a truly peaceful and relaxing holiday. The main house has been lovingly restored to become, once again, a comfortable family home. Antique furniture, a roll-top bath, original oak floors, stunning stone and marble fireplaces, a wealth of old beams and a very special wall-painting discovered during the renovation, all make Touvent a unique place to holiday.

François Mitterrand spent his boyhood at Touvent and in his autobiography he writes of the natural beauty of the grounds and the peace and tranquillity he found here. All in all Touvent is the perfect place to come on holiday.

Touvent is let as one large house consisting of two wings, both having huge farmhouse kitchens and capable of sleeping eighteen people comfortably.

Touvent is also the perfect place to enjoy a cookery holiday in France, where your partner can either join you in the kitchen, or meet up with you to share the culinary delights after having played golf at one of the many local golf courses, enjoyed a leisurely day’s art class in the beautiful surrounding countryside or simply spent a relaxing day by the pool with a chilled glass of wine and a good book.

Peace and tranquillity, fun and frivolity – it’s all to be found in a house-party type atmosphere at Le Manoir de Touvent. If you are single – we cannot promise to find you a match – but we can guarantee like-minded souls. Please have a look at our Le Manoir de Touvent website or e-mail cook@villavalentina.com for further details.
